Facebook is something where we like to make ourselves involved by scrolling bait news, but what if it stops responding suddenly. It can certainly put you in a great dilemma about what’s wrong. And for an amateur like me, I need one day to find out what’s wrong and why Facebook doesn’t respond. So this is what I learned after I experienced a problem ‘Facebook did not respond’.
If Facebook does not respond, the first step you have to check whether Facebook is down for everyone, or only you face the problem. And if it doesn’t go down and the server is fine, then you can proceed towards the problem solving tips provided further in this guide according to the device you are using.
Part-1 Facebook desktop site does not respond
If Facebook does not load or respond to any web browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari, you can apply the following problem solving tips:
1. Update your browser
The browser needs to be updated from time to time so it can function properly. If you haven’t updated your browser for some time now and Facebook doesn’t respond, and you don’t know the reason, this can be an answer to ‘why’ you.
2. Clean the exploration data
If you think your browser is too slow, this might be due to cache and cookies that accumulate in its history. You must delete search data from time to time because too much can stop Facebook from responding, or it will be too long to load even if your internet speed is very good.
3. Use a different browser
If Facebook does not open on Google Chrome, you can switch to a different browser because sometimes some unexpected problems can appear with your browser so you can ensure that if the problem is with your browser or something else.
4. Delete the third part application or plug-in
Facebook may not respond even when you have installed many third-party applications or plug-ins on your device. So you can delete it one by one and see what causes an error.
Part – 2 Facebook applications do not respond
If the Facebook application does not respond on your Android or iPhone device, here are the steps you need to follow:
1. Check available storage
If your mobile device has an inadequate storage space, this can be the reason why Facebook does not respond. Clean the storage space by deleting files and photos that are not important and then try to return to Facebook. If Facebook still hasn’t opened, you can try the next solution.
2. Update the Facebook application
Do not update the Facebook application will make you deal with problems and can even cause the crash application. So just go to the Android Play Store or Apple Play Store and install the latest Facebook version. After updating the application, see if it starts responding. If it’s still Facebook is not available, proceed to the next step.
3. Fix your internet
If Facebook is still not functioning, or too long to respond to FB, you need to check your internet. If the signal is too weak, try moving to a closer place to the router or if you use a cellular network, you can switch to a Wi-Fi network with better bandwidth. You can also try to connect back to the network by releasing it first.
4. Restart the Facebook application
It can also fix problems with Facebook and you have to restart the application if it’s too long to respond. You can also get out of all the other applications that run in the background because this can also make a time that is too long to respond.
5. Remove the application cache
The Facebook application tends to accumulate cache files from time to time and do not clean the cache can produce a frozen Facebook application, crash, or not respond again. To fix it, open the FB application from your device settings and then from the storage section, clear the cache. After that, check if you face the same error.
6. Logout and restart your device
After you clean the application cache, the next step must be out of your Facebook account and then restart your mobile device. After this, go to your Facebook account again and see if it responds normally.
7. Update your Android or iOS
The last thing you can try is to make sure that your mobile device has the latest operating system installed. This way you can ensure that all the applications on your phone will do our best. So, if you have not updated your Android or iOS device long time, it is the right time to do it.
