New Delhi: Because today’s fuel prices hiking for the ninth time in the last 10 days, the opposition congress has been taken to the streets to protest the step. The party of parliamentarians from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha today held a demonstration of protests at Vijay Chowk near the Parliament in Delhi, kicking national agitation on a sharp increase in gasoline, diesel and gas cooking prices. The Grand Old Party demands a setback, accusing the government of “stealing money from poor people” and handing it to industrialists.
“Our request is that the government must control the price and stop raising gasoline and diesel prices,” said the senior party leader Rahul Gandhi while noting that poor and medium classes had been developed.
“We can see that the price of gasoline and diesel climbs quickly. The government makes thousands of crores from this. Congress protested throughout the country against the increase in gasoline and diesel prices. The government must stop doing this. Having that price does not rise,” he added.
With a reverse motor gas cylinder and cooking placed on the protest site, Congress mocked PM. On a signal from the central leadership, the party carnataka unit hit the road with a gas cylinder decorated and turned on as a god, with a mocking priest. Party workers also looked banging equipment, sliding on the advice of PM Modi to lift the spirits of health workers during a pandemic.
Mr. Gandhi also lit that he had estimated this would happen. In a Jibe at BJP, the Congress leader has earlier this month to say people must eradicate their vehicles before the selection concludes because the MOD government will increase prices immediately after completion.
Among those present at protest demonstrations including opposition leaders at Rajya Sabha Malikarjun Kharge and Congress leader at Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
There has been extensive criticism of the government led by BJP because it was not hiking prices for four months because of the election of assembly in five countries even when international crude oil prices rose which climbed an unprecedented climb.
The price of gasoline and diesel is currently approached by 80 Paise each liter, taking an increase in fuel rates in the last 10 days to ₹ 6.40 per liter.
Not only Congress, several opposition parties such as the Trinamool and DMK Congress also protested the increase, showing that it would be a snowball into an increase in important commodity prices and lead to inflation.
Non-BJP countries have attacked the center not to reduce central customs for fuel, say they have reduced value added tax (VAT) and do so further will not be feasible. This center has made a collection of records through customs because it was closed two years ago to fight a steep increase in international crude oil prices. However, the increase never rolled back even though crude oil prices were dipped later. The center mopped a record of profit, claiming to spend it on Covid infrastructure, development and assistance.
While tax and service tax (GST) applies to most products since its introduction in 2017, oil products and natural gas have been kept away from PurView. Excise, which increased to the center, and VAT who went to the state government, was charged their sales.
Gasoline in Delhi will now cost ₹ 101.81 per liter with 101.01 per liter yesterday while the diesel level rose from 92.27 per liter to 93.07 per liter today, the notification price of state fuel retailers showed.
In Mumbai, the price of gasoline and diesel per liter reached each ₹ 116.72 and ₹ 100.94 after the price was upgraded by 84 Paise each.
In Chennai, the price of gasoline is ₹ 107.45 after an increase of 76 Paise per liter while Diesel is priced at ₹ 97,52 after an increase of 76 Paise today.
