Netflix said that monthly subscription prices in the US increased to $ 2 depending on the plan.

Netflix increases monthly subscription prices for customer streaming customers in the United States and Canada in the midst of growing competition from other streaming services such as HBO Max and Disney +. The California-based company said Friday that monthly subscription prices rose $ 1 to $ 2 in the US depending on the plan.

The most commonly used standard plan with a maximum of two screens allowed for simultaneous streaming will now cost $ 15.49 per month in the US, up from $ 13.99. The standard Netflix plan in the US will now cost more than HBO Max and Disney +. AT & T Inc. HBO Max currently offers an annual subscription of $ 11.99 per month. Walt Disney Co. Disney + costs $ 7.99 a month or $ 79.99 per year.

While the basic plan with one stream increased by $ 1, to $ 10; The most expensive plan, which allows four simultaneous streams, which are also in Ultra HD, up $ 2, up to $ 20.

The standard plan in Canada also rose with the same number in local currency, up to C $ 16.49 from C $ 14.99. The premium plan rose by $ 2 to $ 20.99, but the basic plan remained unchanged at C $ 9.99.

Varied plans based on the number of user screens can simultaneously drain videos on and the number of devices that can download videos. DVD services by mail need separate plans.

The price increase in Netflix’s plan for US and Canadian users will immediately be valid for new customers. Existing customers will see new prices in the coming weeks when they receive their monthly bills.

“We understand people have more entertainment choices than before and we are committed to providing a better experience for our members,” said Reuters spokesman Netflix.

“We updated our prices so we can continue to offer a variety of quality entertainment options. As usual we offer various plans so that members can choose the price that functions for their budget,” the spokesman added.
