Tata in talks with Boeing, Airbus for new airplanes

Boeing Co and Airbus Planemakers have met executives from the Indian Group in recent weeks to discuss the order of future aircraft for Air India, two people who are familiar with the problem.

Tata last month regained ownership of Indian Air Carrier after almost 70 years in equity agreement and debt of $ 2.4 billion. While these airlines have a profitable landing slot, the group faces uphill tasks to increase the Indian water aging fleet and reverse financial and service levels.

Air India has a mixed fleet of more than 140 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, and estimates industry executives will cost more than $ 1 billion to update aging aircraft.

There are no comments that are immediately available from any company involved.

Bloomberg reported on Thursday that Tata had started an initial discussion with the makers of peremajatan and lessors for jets including the Airbus A350-900 and Dreamliners Boeing 787-9, quoting people who are familiar with this problem.

The airline, with Maharajah mascot, was famous for its aircraft which was decorated with luxury and star services fought by the founder of JRD Tata. Air India was founded in 1932 and was nationalized in 1953.

However, since the mid-2000s, Indian water reputation declined due to financial problems installed. It flew a plane with business class chairs in poor repairs and grisses a few new 787 for use for spare parts.

Tata, Autos-To-Steel conglomerate, operate two other airlines: Vistara, in a joint venture with Singapore Airlines, and AirAsia India, which operates in a partnership with AirAsia Group.
