Skoda Kushaq was launched in three variants, which only two are available with automatic transmission options. The registration document recently reveals that the active variant of the entry-level will soon get that choice too.
Two Kushaq engine options are 1 liter turbo-gasoline machines and 1.5 liters. Both can be owned with a 6-speed manual or automatic 6-speed torque converter for 1 liter units and automatic 7-speed DCTs for larger machines. Three variants offered are active, ambition and style. The 1.5-liter engine is limited to the top-style variant while smaller units are offered with all three variants.
Skoda currently offers automatic options from the mid-center ambition variant, which is valued by Rs 14.19 lakh while the base price of the Kushaq is set at Rs 10.49 lakh. The automatic variant of the entry-level active variant is likely to be valued at around Rs 12 Lakh, which will still make it more affordable than the ambition-MT variant. This will make it one of the most affordable automatic options in the compact SUV segment, both only for people like Maruti S-Cross.
Kushaq is the first premium and Skoda offer based on the A0-in MQB platform that is very localized. It competed against people like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Maruti S-Cross and Volkswagen Taigun to come.
