Amazon recently reinvented grocery shopping using its checkout-less go shops, and the e-commerce giant, Amazon is attempting to use its technology art to hairdressing. The organization Amazon has selected East London as their very first house for the first-ever salon. This website in East London is 1500 square feet, where clients can quickly try the digital hair colours with the augmented reality colour bar and the store curated beauty goods using QR codes as well as the screens.
The AR tech relies on a tablet that is embedded in the mirror for showing patrons how they look in different shades using the front-facing camera of slate. Obviously, this is going to look very much similar to the Live Mode makeup feature that Amazon introduced on its mobile application in 2019. In 2019, the application was developed to allow users to experiment with different lipstick shades. Meanwhile, the shopping experience is Amazon’s new point and learn technology, which allows customers to point the products on the shelf for having relevant information. You can then easily purchase the products by scanning a QR code.
Probing further, the coming-up salon of Amazon is going to offer traditional styling from all the professionals at Neville Hair and Beauty. It costs around £50 to £250 ($70 to $350) for all the adults’ hair treatment. The retailer is recently trying the concept with its employees and will be open to the public in the upcoming weeks.
Ergo, the Amazon company has said that they have no plans to launch additional salons. Instead, they are viewing this concept as a testing ground for new technology and showcasing its beauty products.
